Pochampally Handloom Sarees – A Legacy Worth Preserving

At Kaithari Nesavu Sarees, we have always stood for handloom traditions and the weavers behind them. Recently, we had a deeply emotional experience with Pochampally handloom weavers, who have been weaving silk-by-cotton sarees for two generations.

Despite their sarees reaching Sri Lanka, the USA, the UK, Canada, and Australia, these artisans are now struggling to find buyers due to increasing export formalities and financial constraints.

The Story of Our Weavers

Each Pochampally silk-by-cotton saree takes:

👩 2 days for women to weave
👨 1.5 days for men to complete

Yet, when we visited their homes, we found them in dire financial distress, unable to continue their craft. They requested only the basic weaving charges to survive, which deeply moved us.
